The manager of the hospital in Caransebeș accused of receiving bribes 250,000 lei for a contract, preventively arrested for 30 days

Singh Bhupinder, the manager of the Municipal Emergency Hospital in Caransebeș and a former counselor in the Ministry of Health, was preventively arrested for 30 days, after initially detained for 24 hours under the charge of taking bribes, according to ProTV.
The manager is accused of receiving 250,000 lei from the administrator of a commercial company to preferentially assign to the respective company, by direct purchase, a contract for repair works at the hospital building.
He was detained on Friday by the prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate for 24 hours. Subsequently, he was preventively arrested for 30 days, the quoted source reports. And the administrator of the trading company is also prosecuted by prosecutors, for bribery.
Following the searches carried out in this case, the investigators found at the home of Singh Bhupinder amounts of money that were raised: 28,890 euros, 96,200 lei, $ 2,541, 340 pounds, 500 francs and 5,000 forint.
Singh Bhupinder, which is of Indian nationality, but also has Romanian citizenship, is a plastic surgeon.
In 2023, he was, for a short time, the honorary counselor of Alexandru Rogobete in the Ministry of Health, when he was Secretary of State.
