The Action and Solidarity Party of President Maia Sandu won the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova with almost 50% of the votes, according to the preliminary results of the Sunday vote. They are not final as there are still a few polling stations in the diaspora.
The distribution of vote on the Moldavian map shows that PAS has won in most regions, while the “patriotic block”, an opposition alliance that has among the leaders the former president Igor Dodon, won in the north of the country, in the Gagauzia Autonomous Region and in Transnistria.

PAS obtained 52.7%of the votes in the municipality of Chisinau where almost 400,000 people voted, while the “patriotic block” took 21.2%, and the electoral block “Alternative”, of which the mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban is part, obtained 14.5%.
Victoria Pas is clearer in the suburbs of Chisinau where she obtained 61.1%, while the “patriotic block” has 12.7% and “alternative” has 10.9%
The ruling party also obtained important percentages in the regions of Straseni (63.1%), Călărași (59.3%), Hâncești (58%) and Nisporeni (57.5%).
Clear victory for the “patriotic block” in Gagauzia
The alliance formed between the Socialist Party of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM), led by Igor Dodon, the Communist Party of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM), led by Vladimir Voronin, and the Viitorul Moldova Party (PVM), led by former Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev, obtained a clear victory in the Autonomous Region, where he has 82.3%. Here, step only obtained 3.2%.
The “patriotic block” also won in Transnistria (51%), but also in northern regions such as Briceni (48.5%), Ocnița (52.2%), Dondușeni (48.2%) or Edineț (42.5%).
Step, about to get the majority in Parliament
The projections made by Radio Free Europe and Agora.MD show that PAS would have 52 mandates in the next Parliament, thus obtaining the majority in the 101 -seater legislature.
