“Poland and Ukrainian blood rests in the same land.” The head of the Ministry of National Defense with mutual disputes

The head of the Ministry of National Defense began his visit by submitting wreaths at the Polish war cemetery in Bykowia near Kiev. He emphasized there that Ukraine is still struggling with Russia's full -scale aggression, and people who also fight for the security of Poland and Europe are dying every day. – Sometimes in Poland, in Europe, it is forgotten that there is a war next to us. It is the blood poured by both Poles and Ukrainians, it should unite us. The enemy is elsewhere – we cannot look for him among ourselves -said Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The Polish minister will meet, among others with Prime Minister Denys Szmyhalem, head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rust Ming. Talks are to concern practical aspects of cooperation – from military training to the development of the defense industry. The key element is to use Ukrainian experiences from the battlefield, especially in the use of drones, which have become a symbol of the current war. – The implementation of applications from the new battlefield is crucial for the transformation of the Polish Army and the entire NATO – he emphasized.
Kosiniak-Kamysz also pointed to the role of the Jatec Nato-Ukraina training and education center operating in Bydgoszcz, which as the only institution simply connects the alliance with Kiev. – This is a concrete that Poles are waiting for, after years, when humanitarian aid was our greatest effort. Now we must transfer cooperation to military and industrial level He said.
The minister also referred to Polish-Ukrainian tensions from recent months, including in the context of historical and economic disputes. – I am aware of the emotions that sometimes grow between us, even around Volhynia. I have them myself. But we must not forget that Polish and Ukrainian blood rests in the same earth. It's painful, but also connecting He said.
Kosiniak-Kamysz's visit to Kiev is part of the wider context of strengthening the military cooperation of the countries of the region. From the beginning of the war, Poland plays the role of one of the key partners of Ukraine, supporting it not only militarily, but also politically on the NATO and the EU forum. The signed agreement is to be another step towards strengthening cooperation, which aims to both support the fighting Ukraine and the modernization of the Polish army.
