Favorites for the Nobel Prize in 2025. There is no Trump, there is a Polish office

The first place on the Prio list is occupied Journalist Protection Committee (CPJ). This organization has been fighting for the independence and safety of journalists around the world for over 40 years. For 33 years, he has also documented the deaths of people associated with the media who die while performing their work in the most dangerous corners of the world. In 2024, the number of such tragedies reached a record level. According to PRIO, the decision to award the CPJ award could pay attention to the threat of suppressing the freedom of the press for peace and democracy.
“So many journalists have never been killed before in 12 months as in 2024. Out of 124 victims, 70 percent reported war in the Gaza Strip. At the time when the freedom of the press is so threatened, the prize for CPJ would be a clear signal that peace and democracy are threatened when journalists are prevented to inform the world,” Graeger.
