Hackers hit luxurious brands
This information is particularly disturbing for victims, because they can lead to the fact that people spending large sums will become the target of subsequent hacker attacks and fraud.
A group of hackers called Shiny Hunters was to attack in April. Kering claims that it refused to pay to hackers, in accordance with many years of recommendation of law enforcement agencies.
“In June, we found that an unauthorized third party obtained temporary access to our systems and gained access to limited customer data (…). In the incident no financial information was disclosed – such as bank account numbers, credit card data or identification numbers issued by government authorities,” said the company Kering, adding that from that time the company has secured its IT systems.
How not to be fooled by hackers?
Fraudsters can use data stolen during cyber attacks to contact potential victims, impersonating another organization, including a bank or government institution.
That is why it is important to be vigilant if you receive suspicious emails, messages or telephones. Remember that fraudsters often try to persuade the victims to be urgent.
If you receive a phone, e.g. from a bank and you are not sure if it is authentic, disconnect and contact the bank immediately.
