450 km of modern power lines. They will help in the expansion of renewable energy sources

The modernization of PSE's transmission network to adapt it to distributed energy sources, i.e. windmills, photovoltaics and energy storage facilities, is to take place in 2025-2034. PLN 64 billion according to government plans. This includes the construction of approximately 4,700–5,000 km of new 400 kV lines, 28 new stations, the modernization of 110 existing ones and an onshore HVDC line. Additionally approximately PLN 130 billion will be spent on the distribution network by 2030 (OSD).

The total value of the projects is approximately PLN 1.53 billion net. The project includes comprehensive modernization of power infrastructure at all voltage levels and extensive activities in the field of network digitization and automation.
450 km of network to be replaced
“The investments focus on both high voltage (HV), medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) networks. Three main investment tasks will be implemented. The first is the construction and reconstruction of the HV network, along with modernization of automatic voltage regulation systems and replacement of power transformers. The second group of investment tasks is the construction and reconstruction of the MV and LV networks, consisting mainly in: cabling of overhead infrastructure, shortening cable runsgreater density of stations to improve voltage conditions and replacement of MV/LV transformers,” the company wrote in a press release.
