The incident occurred at night from Tuesday to Wednesday, when during the massive attack of the Russian Federation for purposes in Ukraine, several unmanneders flew to Poland. NATO defense systems and Polish radars recorded the presence of several facilities, some of which were neutralized as potentially dangerous. It was one of the most serious violations of Polish airspace since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
The Sejm condemned the Russian provocation. NATO also reacted earlier
The resolution is part of a broader context of NATO activities. After Tuesday's attack and invasion of drones into the Polish airspace, Poland launched consultations under Article 4 NATO. The Secretary General of the Alliance Mark Rutte, in turn, announced the launch “Eastern Guard” initiatives, under which allied aircraft – including Danish F-16 and German Eurofightery-will patrol the airspace of the Eastern Flanka countries.

The parliament resolution is a reaction not only to the incident itself, but also to the growing concerns about the security of the NATO eastern flank. In recent months, similar cases have also been recorded in Romania, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Politicians of various options agreed that the drone incident requires a clear and coherent response of the Polish state and the entire alliance.
During the Sejm debate, it was noted that Russia's actions are part of a wider destabilization strategy to intimidate society and undermine trust in security institutions. MPs called for further strengthening cooperation with allies, especially in the field of air defense and counteracting hybrid threats.
The adopted resolution therefore has not only a symbolic dimension, but also is an element of a broader political and military front, built towards Russia's escalating activities.
