The information war is underway. Gawkowski: The number of disinformation on the web is constantly growing

The services of Russia and Belarus disseminate disinformation on a drone attack on Poland on social media – Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski said on Wednesday. He emphasized that the attack was planned and carried out by Russia, and Ukraine did not draw Poland into the war.

On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces informed that during the Russian Federation attack on Ukraine, the Polish airspace was repeatedly violated by drones.

Deputy Prime Minister Gawkowski informed during the Wednesday press conference that during a special meeting of the combined Cybersecurity Center, reports were presented, which clearly shows that Poland is subjected to disinformation activities, including through social media.

– The number of disinformation on the network is constantly growing. Behind this organized action is the Russian Federation and the services of Belarus. This is to promote a Russian narrative about who, why and how it led to the fact that drones were in Poland – said Gawkowski.

The head of the department of digitization did not cite the details of the content of disinformation. He emphasized, however, that there is no doubt that the drone attack was planned by the Russian side. – Ukraine does not draw Poland into the war. Those who claim differently lie. It is Russia who is responsible for this attack – said Gawkowski.

He added that the Polish army has full ability to repel attacks. (PAP)
