Almost 10 thousand generators since the outbreak of the war
EU Commissioner for Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib recalled that since the beginning of the Russian invasion, the European Union has provided Ukraine with almost 10,000. power generators under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. She also noted that last fall the transfer of the thermal power plant transferred to Ukraine by Lithuania was completed. — “Russia continues to attack Ukraine's energy infrastructure, deliberately depriving civilians of heat, light and access to basic services in the middle of a freezing winter. She wants to break the spirit of Ukrainians, but she will not succeed” said Lahbib.
Over a million people without electricity
Poland also actively supports Ukraine. The government's Strategic Reserves Agency has donated 379 power generators and 18 heaters, and the deliveries are expected to take several days. Warsaw added 90 units, which will be transported thanks to the State Fire Service.
The humanitarian situation in Ukraine remains dramatic. After Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, over a million people were left without access to electricity, water and heating, with temperatures reaching as low as -20 degrees Celsius.
