Bomb alerts started exactly how the authorities have warned that it will happen as part of Russia's assault on the electoral process in the Republic of Moldova, the Chisinau Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday.

According to him, there were cases in Rome, Genoa (Italy), Bucharest (Romania), Ashville (USA), Brussels (Belgium) and Alicante (Spain).

“The security procedures in cooperation with the force institutions in the partner countries are followed. Apart from Genoa, the voting continued,” said the spokesman of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, Daniel Voda.

“The state institutions have prepared for this scenario, we have established clear procedures and cooperate with our partners from other states so that the electoral process does not suffer. We ask all the citizens to listen to the authorities' recommendations, the official information and to continue the honest vote,” says MAE Moldovan in a press release.

According to him, the surveillance cameras of the electoral processes located in the polling stations are functional and keep the electoral instruments under observation so that they remain intact until the voting processes are resumed.

The Moldovan government warned yesterday that such cases could occur, when it announced six scenarios taken into account by the parliamentary election day

One of these is that of false bomb alarms: “The tactics already used in the past will be managed promptly by the security institutions, so that the poll is normal. These alerts are communicated by the police.”
