Macron appointed a new prime minister of France. He called the Russian Federation the main threat along with terrorists

Macron instructed Lekornya to conduct consultations with the political forces represented in parliament in order to adopt the country's budget for 2026 and “developing agreements necessary for making decisions in the coming months.”

According to the results of these discussions, the new Premier of France will have to offer the president the composition of the new government.

“The actions of the Prime Minister will be aimed at protecting our independence and power, serving the French people and ensuring political and institutional stability for the unity of the country. The president of the republic is convinced that on this basis it is possible to achieve consent between political forces with respect for the beliefs of each of them,” the Elysean Palace emphasized.

Context

The 39-year-old Lekornny held the position of Minister of Defense in the government of Francois Bire.

On September 8, the National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament) voted against the Votum of Birera’s confidence, which was the first case in the history of modern France, when the head of government was removed from office during the vote of confidence. Bayru himself initiated a vote after the crisis caused by his plan of “rigid economy” on the eve of the debate on the budget for 2026 – he proposed reducing state expenses by almost € 44 billion to reduce the state debt of France.

The Elysee Palace reported that Macron will appoint a new prime minister in the coming days.

In October last year, Lexorny said that the aggressor country of the Russian Federation poses the greatest threat to France along with terrorists.
