Dragoș Lujinschi, a 38-year-old Romanian, came to the attention of British tabloids after trying to deceive the United Kingdom magistrates to avoid extradition. According to The Sun, he presented at the Westminster Magistracy Court, where he was quoted for extradition to France, claiming would be a “business partner” with Bernardo Silva, the Portuguese star of the Champion of England, and to invest in Forbal.

“I contacted Bernardo Silva to find a coach position and to invest in smaller clubs, in order to help the Premier League,” Dragoş Lujinschi said in front of the judges, completing: “There is a possibility to sign a contract with them. These perspectives would be ruined if I were extradited.”

From false calls, to trafficking in people

In fact, Dragoș Lujinschi already had a fairly complicated judicial past. In December 2024, he had been sentenced to 16 months in prison for abusive calls to emergency services, after calling dozens of times and even threatened with death. According to the file, the Romanian had also tried to destroy the police van door after an arrest.

However, the problems of Dragoş Lujinschi are much more serious, because the French have issued on his behalf a mandate for human trafficking, after in 2019 he was caught transporting migrants to France. Thus, once in the custody of French judges, he risks a two -year prison sentence for human trafficking.

Although before the London court, the Romanian claimed that an eventual extradition would destroy his “football career” and even stated that he is afraid of abuses in French prisons, Judge Annabel Pilling rejected his plea, considering it “at all plausible”.

“Any links with Manchester City or Bernardo Silva are pure inventions. There is no evidence to support these statements,” They concluded the magistrates, according to The Sun report.

On his Facebook account, the Romanian appears dressed in a series of photographs dressed in sports equipment, next to is the message “Back to football”.

Despite the desperate attempt to present himself as a “football man” connected to the Premier League, Dragoş Lujinschi will be extradited to France, where a new process for migrant trafficking is awaited.
