More than 5,600 flights to and from the US were canceled. According to FlightAware, the number of canceled flights within, to and from the United States now stands at 5,648.
The website shows that 98 percent flights from New York's LaGuardia Airport were canceled, and 90 percent from JFK airport. Approximately 38 cm (15 in) of snow fell in both locations.
Boston's Logan International Airport canceled 92 percent of its flights. outbound flights, Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey canceled 92%, and Philadelphia International Airport reduced traffic by 81%.

In New York, bridges, highways and streets were closed to traffic until noon Monday local time because of a citywide travel ban that allowed plows to clear snow.
New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced that there are 2,300 snow plows and 700 salt spreaders in operation in the city.
Many areas on the East Coast between Delaware and Massachusetts received 38 to 50 cm (15 to 20 inches) of snow, but the heaviest amounts so far were recorded in parts of Long Island, New York and Rhode Island, with up to 66 cm (26 inches).
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said no deaths were reported from the winter storm.
“So far, we are not aware of any fatalities related to this blizzard on our city streets or in public places,” he said at a news conference. He added that city officials placed homeless people in shelters and warming centers.
Mamdani, who has been in office for almost two months, is overseeing a second major snowstorm. During the January snowstorm, the city recorded at least 19 cold-related deaths.
Schools were closed in New York on Monday, and popular tourist sites such as Times Square were almost empty.
