The longest snake in captivity lives in the United States – Python Medusa

In 2011, the length of Python reached 7.67 meters, and the mass was 158.8 kg. For a festive photo, which was published by the Guinness Book of Records, 15 people carried it. A pattern of rhombuses and zigzags is visible on the body of Medusa.

On October 13, 2025, Medusa will turn 21 years old. The article notes that Malay pythons in the wild live up to 22 years, and in captivity – for more than 30 years.

It is interesting that these pythons can multiply without a male, as the 11-year-old snake Telma, who laid down six fertilized eggs without mating, demonstrated.
