The police in the Czech Republic finally arrested the driver of a Formula 1 racing car, which had been seen on the highway in numerous lines since 2019, writes the BBC.
The red racing machine, decorated entirely with the Ferrari logo, was followed to a property in the village of Buk, about 60 km southwest of Prague, after the last appearance was reported to the police.
On Sunday morning a video appeared in which you see the Formula 1 car traveling on a highway and stopping to feed at a gas station.
The driver, a 51 -year -old man, was arrested at his home and detained after he initially refused to descend from the vehicle. The video images obtained by the local press show him by standing in the car in front of his garage, arguing with the officers and saying that they violated private property.
Finally, he gave up and agreed to be taken to the police station to be interrogated, carrying the red pilot's and helmet suit.
His son told the local press that a few dozens of police and a helicopter came to the driver's house, which he qualified as a disproportionate reaction “to an alleged violation of the traffic rules”.
A six -year -old problem
The police managed to talk for the first time with the Ghost driver of Formula 1 in 2019, when pictures and videos by car began to appear online.
They located the vehicle and interrogated its owner, who denied that he would ever drive on the highway. It is not clear if it is the same person the police have arrested now. Because the driver wore a helmet in videos and photos, he could not be identified, and the police could not continue the investigation.
The car is not in reality one of Formula 1 and is not a Ferrari, but a Dallara GP2/08 – a racing machine developed by the Italian manufacturer Dallara to be used in the GP2 series, a qualification series for Formula 1.
