North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will participate in a military parade in Beijing on September 3, China's Foreign Ministry announced, the BBC reports.
A high manager of the Chinese Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hong lei, announced the presence of the North Korean leader at a press conference in Beijing. This will be Kim Jong's first visit to China in January 2019.
Hong lei also confirmed the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Massoud Pezeshkian. The official China Noua agency announced the presence of 26 foreign leaders in total.
Beijing intends to demonstrate its military power in front of the world on Wednesday, within the parade on the boulevard that borders the Tiananmen Square. The parade will conclude a series of events in which China will host about twenty foreign leaders on Saturday and Sunday for the SHanghai cooperation organization.
The parade called the “Victory Day” will mark the 80th anniversary of China's war against Japan and the end of World War II.
China is expected to present its newest weapons, including hundreds of aircraft, tanks and anti-drone systems-being for the first time that the new structure of its military forces is presented entirely in a parade.
The 70 -minute parade, which will be supervised by the Chinese leader XI Jinping in Tiananmen Square, is expected to be carefully followed by analysts and Western powers (news.ro)
