The Russian Ministry of Defense accused Ukraine on Sunday of violating the three -day armistice announced by Vladimir Putin on the occasion of Victoria's Day, hitting more than 14,000 times, the Russian state -news agency Tass reports. In turn, Ukraine, who did not accept this armistice, accused Moscow of repeatedly violated his own armistice.

“Despite the declaration of ceasefire, the Ukrainian armed formations continued to carry out military operations against the Russian troops. A total of 14,043 violations of fire termination were registered,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, throughout the entire line of battle, Ukrainian troops performed 4,011 attacks with cannon artillery, tanks and mortals on the positions of Russian troops.

“In addition, the enemy made 9,918 strokes and ammunition launches of unanswered air vehicles,” the Russian Ministry said.

The “humanitarian” armistice announced by Putin was in force on May 8-10, on the occasion of the ceremonies dedicated to 80 years since the victory against Nazi Germany.

A few hours after the entry into force, Ukraine accused Russia of attacking the “entire line of the front”.

Putin proposes to Ukraine direct peace negotiations

The EU has increased the pressure on Moscow and threatened it on Saturday with “a massive tightening of sanctions” if Putin rejects a 30-day armistice requested by Europeans and Americans.

Putin rejected what he stated to be the attempt of European powers to impose “ultimatums” and proposed, on the other hand, direct discussions with Ukraine in Istanbul in an attempt to “eliminate the deep causes of the conflict” and to “get the restoration of a long -term peace”, rather than a simple break for re -armament.

“We propose Kiev to resume direct negotiations without any prior condition. We offer to Kiev authorities to resume negotiations on Thursday, Istanbul,” Putin said, in the early hours of Sunday.

Volodimir Zelenski reacted by saying that first for Moscow to accept a ceasefire starting Monday, May 12, then the negotiations will come.
