INVESTIGATION. Trade unionists discuss an alliance with the law firm of the MEP Gold Gheorghe Piperea against the cuts of the Bolojan Government. “They presented a strategy and a concrete action plan” / A PNL member also appears in the equation

The employees of the National Authority for Administration and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) are some of the best paid state employees: 659 employees with average salary of 2,500 euros per month. The expected decreases made them organize and attack in court the law that reduces the number of positions and income, according to an investigation published today by snoop.ro.

ANCOM (communications), ASF (insurance) and ANRE (energy) are three state institutions that regulate three important and prosperous markets. In turn, employees are very well paid.

The announcement that the Bolojan Government has assumed a law that will be specifically cut from the three institutions mobilized on ANCOM employees. And they have resorted to discussions, for the time being, with the law firm of Gheorghe Piperea, MEP Gold, according to the information of the SNOOOP investigation site. The information was confirmed by the trade unionists himself, asked by journalists.

The law stipulates, among others, the 10% reduction of specialized positions and by 30% of the positions in administrative and logistical support structures, salary decreases of up to 30% and eliminating bonuses for bosses until the end of 2028.

In addition, the law obliges institutions to transparency regarding payroll grids.

“It is true that the people from Piperea & Associates were much better prepared. We want to choose the best lawyers to represent us,” said Radu Dinu, the president of the ANCOM union.

ANCOM, which is led from 2023 by Valeriu Zgonea, has 659 employees and a net average salary of 12,934 lei, according to Spotmedia. It is an autonomous state company, that is, it belongs to the state and has a monopoly in the field of communications regulation, reporting that it is self -financing.

The e-mail that informed the employees

The president of the ANCOM union, Radu Dinu, announced the employees of the institution, through an internal e-mail consulted by SNOOOP, that he started consultations with five law firm, “selected for their experience in work litigation and professional notoriety.”

These are Piperea & Associations, Stoica and Associations, Bulboaca and Associations, Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen (NNDKP) and Izabela Popa (individual office), according to email.

Dinu states in the electronic message that the choice of the law firm that will represent ANCOM employees will be made by vote. The term is the end of this week. One of the favorites is the society where the founding partner is the MEP gold Gheorghe Piperea, according to the sources in the ANCOM union, quoted by Snoop.

After the first round of consultations with lawyers, Dinu announced the trade unionists that he does not want to continue the discussions with one of the other law firm, arguing that they came to the meeting “unprepared, although they requested documents before”.

In the same message, the head of the ANCOM union praised Piperea's house because the representatives “answered punctually to all our questions; they presented a strategy and a concrete action plan”.

“They were willing to come to all interested colleagues for a detailed presentation and a question and answers session,” Dinu said.

Contacted by Snoop, the head of the ANCOM trade unionists denied that he said that “there would be a waste of time” to continue discussions with one of the other companies and that Piperea and Associates would be favorite to represent them in court.

“We analyze all the offers. We have four-five possible variants, it is also Piperea among them, but I could not say that it is favorite, we still expect two offers. The decision is subject to the vote of the union members, about 450, does not take a person or two,” said Radu Dinu.

Asked if he asked the question of a possible conflict of interest, given that she was a law firm founded and coordinated by a gold politician, Dinu stressed that he also took into account this aspect, but more important is to have good lawyers.

“Our main idea is to work with a law firm that will increase our chances of winning the process and invoking the exception of unconstitutionality of the law,” said for SNOOP.

The MEP gold has criticized fiscal measures

The gold MEP Gheorghe Piperea is a constant critic of the packages of fiscal measures designed by the government led by Ilie Bolojan.

Piperea claims that the Executive “bypasses democracy and defies citizens” and announced that the opposition will submit six censorship motions against the Bolojan Government, one for each fiscal package, and will notify the Venice and ECHR.

For his part, the union leader Dinu explained that the availability of approximately 200 employees would lead to destabilization. A PNL member also appears in the equation.
