Lia Olguța Vasilescu, vice-president of the PSD and mayor of Craiova, told B1 TV that I do not believe that Ilie Bolojan will resign from the position of prime minister and that he hopes “that eventually the responsibility and professionalism will characterize us all.”
The social-democrat considers that the prime minister “has no reason to resign” and that in the project regarding the reform of the local administration, the source of the coalition voltages, “There are many mistakes”.
“I do not think he will resign, because he has no reason to resign. The discussion that took place yesterday, in the coalition, did nothing but bring us some arguments to put on the table, which we have shown to the prime minister, motivating for what we ask for the government, for what we ask for the government. Unfortunately, if they do not correct, they will cancel this reform ”, declared Lia Olguța Vasilescu.
“There is no haste to make this reform”
The mayor of Craiova claims that “there is no haste to make this reform” of the local administration
“Because only from January 1, 2026 can be made available. So I do not see why we should, today or tomorrow, or tomorrow, do such a package and assume that over two, three, four, five months, when it will be applied, will actually lead to the availability of some employees in the local public administration, We also pay damages for these layoffs ”, continued the mayor
“There was no question to withdraw from government”
Asked if he can confirm that Paul Stănescu said in the party meeting that “it is only a matter of time until the PSD comes out of the government”, the Olguța Vasilescu League replied: “I did not attend any meeting where Mr. Stanescu had said something. The framework of the meetings we have, of permanent office, to withdraw from the government ”.
“Instead, we have filed amendments, including today's packages in Parliament, the Government has hired its responsibility. I also asked for the package for local public administration. I hope that eventually the responsibility and professionalism will characterize us all,” concluded the PSD mayor of Craiova.
On Monday, Ilie Bolojan hired the Government liability on five of the six projects in the fiscal package. The sixth, which refers to the reform of the local and central public administration, was redissed on Sunday, but the parties did not reach a consensus, due to the PSD opposition, and the project was postponed. During yesterday's meeting, the prime minister threatened with resignation.
Asked on Monday of reporters about the threat of the prime minister, the leader of the Social Democrats, Sorin Grindeanu, said that “he does not want to enter this area”, but he wants this coalition from four games and the group of minorities to operate through consensus.
