The leader of the White House will talk about the “historic achievements” recorded by his administration in the last year and about what is next, his spokeswoman announced, quoted by ABC News.

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he will give a live speech on Wednesday, at 21:00 local time (4:00 AM Romanian time), from the White House, writes ABC News.

“It's been a great year for our country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!” Trump wrote on his platform, in all caps.

“I look forward to seeing you,” he said.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt hinted at Trump's speech in a meeting with reporters on Tuesday, saying he would talk about the “historic accomplishments” his administration has made over the past year and what he expects to come next.

“It's going to be a very good speech. I was just in the Oval Office with the president and we talked about it. He's going to talk a lot about the accomplishments of the last 11 months, everything he's done to bring back greatness to our country and everything he plans to do next to continue delivering results for the American people over the next three years,” Leavitt said.

Border security and the economy

In an interview with Fox News on Tuesday, Leavitt said Trump will likely talk about issues such as border security and the economy.

“President Trump will talk about what's next. The best is yet to come, as he often says,” Leavitt said on Fox News, adding that the president could “give hints about some policies that will come” in the year ahead.

Trump's addresses to the nation this year have largely followed acts of violence, CBS News pointed out.

The president's last speech was broadcast by the White House on November 26, after two members of the West Virginia National Guard were shot in Washington, DC, not far from the White House.

The White House also aired taped speeches from the Oval Office, including on September 10, after the killing of Charlie Kirk, and on September 9, after the killing of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska. He spoke before a joint session of Congress on March 4.

Peace negotiations and blockades

The Trump administration has pushed its economic agenda throughout the last months of the year.

Trump himself has outlined his tariff agenda and insisted last month that Americans receive checks funded by tariff revenue. He promised that “hundreds of millions of dollars in tariff revenue” would be distributed as dividends by mid-2026.

Fox News, the conservative-leaning Republican outlet, noted that with the national debt at just over $38 trillion, the revenue from the new tariffs is minuscule: billions collected versus trillions owed.

Externally, Trump has claimed credit for ending several wars and is now in the middle of negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine.

On Tuesday, the president announced a “complete blockade” of sanctioned oil tankers sailing to and from Venezuela, an escalation of his administration's months-long pressure campaign against Nicolás Maduro, the South American nation's leader.

“Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest army ever assembled in the history of South America,” Trump wrote on his account on the Truth Social platform. “It will become even bigger, and the shock for them will be unprecedented,” the president added.
