US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he is “very disappointed” by his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, for the failure to reach a peace agreement on Ukraine after their Alaska summit, according to AFP. He added, without giving details, that his administration is planning to take certain measures to reduce the number of deaths in the Russia's war in Ukraine, notes Reuters.
“I am very disappointed by President Putin, I can say that,” Trump said at the radio show “Scott Jennings”, asked if he felt betrayed by the reaction of the Russian leader. “I had a very good relationship, but I am very disappointed.”
However, Trump did not specify what consequences could bear Russia, although he recently set a two -week term for the conclusion of a peace agreement, which is to expire at the end of this week.
Trump says he is not worried about relationships between China and Russia
The US leader added that he is not worried about a possible alliance between Russia and China, given that Putin met in Beijing on Tuesday with Chinese President Xi Jinping before a large military parade.
“I am not worried, at all,” Trump said.
“We have the strongest army in the world by far, and would never dare to use theirs against us. Believe me, it would be the worst thing they could ever do.”
