When choosing a bouquet, it is important to check the degree of opening of the bud – half -open flowers are best suited, which last longer freshness. In roses, you should pay attention to the presence of a “shirt” – thick lower petals framing the bud. The elasticity of the petals is also an indicator of quality: in fresh colors they easily return to place after a slight bend.
To preserve the bouquet, experts recommend immediately putting flowers in a vase of water, having previously cut the stems. The thicker the stem, the longer the cut should be. The lower leaves must be removed to prevent the appearance of an unpleasant odor and the reproduction of bacteria. For roses, it is recommended to add a pinch of sugar to the water to extend freshness.
An alternative to traditional bouquets can be compositions of sweets, the choice of which can also be found on the official channel of the department. Compliance with these simple rules will help keep the flowers fresh and beautiful on a holiday.
