Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will not meet on Monday with the President of the European Commission Ursula von Der Leyen, who will pay a visit to Romania. The government will be represented by the Minister of Defense Ionuț Moșteanu.

Ursula von Der Leyen undertakes a tournament in the European Union countries these days in the vicinity of Russia: Latvia, Finland, Estonia, Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Romania.

“His visit will highlight the support of the EU for the Member States who are experiencing challenges due to the fact that they have common borders with Russia or Belarus. It will also discuss Europe's security and defense with military leaders,” the European Commission previously announced.

Von Der Leyen is about to arrive in Bucharest on Monday, with President Nicușor Dan and Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, would travel to Constanța.

“The president von der Leyen will discuss with the government officials and the army on EU-NATO cooperation, as well as about the prevention, detection, defense against and discouraging maritime and hybrid threats,” the source said.

But the procedures necessary to assume responsibility in Parliament for package 2 has over the program of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan who will no longer participate in the meeting with the head of EC.

Thus, Bolojan must be present at the coalition session scheduled on Monday, at 12 o'clock, to discuss the amendments for the five laws adopted by the Government on Friday. After which Bolojan will chair, from 4 pm, the government meeting in which, possibly, it would be decided to adopt some of the amendments. Finally, at 7 pm, Ilie Bolojan will go to Parliament to take responsibility on the five projects.

Political sources have told Hotnews that the government will be represented at the meeting with Von Der Leyen by the Minister of Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, given that the discussions will have the main theme of the Defense of the European Union.
