Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told on board a return aircraft from the USA that he achieved with Donald Trump a “common understanding” regarding how to achieve a suspension of weapons in the Gaza Strip and, ultimately, peace in all of Palestine – told the Turkish agency of Anadol.

“We explained (ourselves) how to first achieve a suspension of weapons in the Gaza Strip and all Palestine, and then strive for a lasting peace. There was a common understanding in this matter,” said Erdogan, who met Trump on Thursday in the White House.
“The number of countries recognizing Palestine exceeded 150. In order for this support to be reflected in practice, the international community must act decisively and take appropriate steps,” he added.
Erdogan emphasized that a two -state solution remains a “formula of permanent peace” in the Middle East. The Turkish leader expressed the view that the current situation is unsuccessful. “Trump is also aware that it can't be like that,” said Erdogan.
Ankara has been calling for years to create an independent Palestine within 1967, with the capital in Eastern Jerusalem. Israel as a result of the so -called The 1967 six -day wars were taken by the Golan Hill belonging to Syria at the time, the Jordanian West Bank, part of Jerusalem, the Sinai Peninsula District, which in 1979 – by virtue of the Egyptian -Israelic peace agreement – returned to Egypt.
Independent Palestine would cover the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The Turkish president admitted that his conversations with Trump took place “in a sincere, constructive and productive atmosphere.” “As you know, my relationship with Trump has been very good for a long time,” he noted. “It is impossible to solve all issues during one meeting, but these conversations led to significant progress in many matters,” emphasized Erdogan.
The Turkish president revealed that both leaders also emphasized the will to increase bilateral trade and revise customs tariffs to achieve the assumed goal, i.e. revolutions of $ 100 billion.
