The British Secretary for Foreign Affairs, David Lammy, has been self -accumulated at the Environmental Supervisory Authority after going fishing with the US vice -president, without the necessary license, during the visit by the US official in the UK, The Guardian reports.

The head of British diplomacy hosted Vance and his family at Chevening House in Kent last week, where the two fished on the private lake of property. In England and Wales, fishermen aged 13 need a special permit to fish freshwater species, such as carp. Lammy failed to catch anything, but “all my children did it,” as the official said.

An “administrative escape”

The British Bureau for Foreign Affairs claims that the licenses were not obtained in advance from an “administrative escape”. Lammy bought them once he was informed and wrote to the Environment Agency (EA) to recognize the violation.

“He also thanked them for the work done in protecting fishing in the UK,” said a spokesman for the Foreign Office.

Agency confirmed that licenses have been purchased in the meantime. All the fish trapped during the visit were released back into the water.

Tournament of US Vice -President in UK

The fishing trip was part of a larger tournament of the US Vice-President in the United Kingdom, where Vance and his family-Usha's wife and three children-are now on a vacation in Cotswolds. The visit combined the time spent in the family with the private political meetings, being marked by a powerful presence of law enforcement in the rural area, normally quiet, from Oxfordshire.

The stay of Vance at Dean Manor, a Georgian house in the eighteenth century, arranged by the former Chancellor George Osborne, led to the closing of the roads, to the organization of police control points and to the installation of a temporary heliport. Pippa and Johnny Hornby, who own the property, subsequently apologized to the locals for the “circus” caused by the Vice-President's security team.

The protesters in the “Stop Trump Coalition” (“Stop Trump”) organized a party entitled “Vance Not Welcome” (“Vance is not welcome”) near Charlbury, attended by about 100 people who brought banners and cakes through which they mocked the Republican politician. Some slogans have targeted Vance's history in attitudes towards abortion and LGBTQ+rights.
