Ukraine: The occupation of Donbass is absolutely impossible this year
Andrij Kaluenko, head of the Ukrainian government center of counteracting disinformation (CPD), warned earlier in August that the Kremlin was trying to convince the West that the Russian army would occupy the entire Donbass, i.e. the Lugansh and Dononi circuits, this year. As he emphasized, this is absolutely impossible.
Russian aggression in Donbas has been going on since 2014. After the annexation of Crimea by Russia in March of that year, armed formations supported by Moscow proclaimed the creation of the so -called Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republic. Since then, Russia has been maintaining its troops and structures in a significant part of the Donetsk and Lugansk region.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been on full -scale since February 2022.
