The Swiss Defense Procurement Office has commissioned three European companies to produce advanced camouflage systems that, by reducing infrared and radar waves, will make soldiers, their vehicles and even buildings invisible to drones.

According to the Armasuisse portal, the ordered camouflage effectively protects the army not only from advanced sensors, but also from the human eye. More than 108 million Swiss francs, i.e. half a billion zlotys, were earmarked for its purchase in the army budget.
Switzerland, which does not belong to NATO and does not have an extensive army, has focused on defense and cooperation. It chose European companies to have systems and equipment that are identical to, or at least compatible with, those of other European countries with which it must cooperate in the event of armed conflict.
The Multispectral Camouflage System (MSTS), as the military calls it, provides effective protection against the latest reconnaissance equipment, i.e. radars and drones equipped with sensors that recognize infrared signals in various ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Before ordering its production, the Swiss checked the effectiveness of the system in the field. The tests were positive, and the drones flew over the soldiers' heads without them being seen, the army assured. (PAP)
