During the opening of the military memorial cemetery in the Kyiv region, people went out for protest

According to activists, the burial in the selected place is fraught with an environmental disaster: construction is carried out on a land with a high level of groundwater. Therefore, graves can be flooded, which poses a threat to 12 villages of the Kyiv region.

A resident of Markovka and the head of the Markhalovka. Support, Alexander Davydenko told reporters about a large number of security forces and the detention of protesters. The community announced the detention of supposedly “about a dozen” local residents.

“There is a bunch of autosaks. And all the women who were there with posters were packed. Our lawyer, who is traveling from Kyiv, is blocked. He stands motionless with other cars in the direction from Kyiv to the cornflowers. The movement was stopped,” said Davidenko.

The opening was present President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Minister of Defense Denis Shmygal, head of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and Minister for Veterans Affairs Natalya Kalmykova.

Kalmykova admitted in the commentary to the “suspension” that there was groundwater at the site of the cemetery, “like throughout the country” and “this is normal”.

“So that there are no questions, a drainage system is laid under all paths. All these paths at a depth of falling from 2.5 m to 3 m, which work. And if you go into the grave now, it is absolutely dry,” the official said.

The Support Markhalivka community on Facebook published the video “5 of the channels”, which claims that the journalists were not allowed into the NVMK territory after the motorcade with officials left the territory. A man in the form who introduced himself as a military personnel of the National Guard of Ukraine refused to pass the crew, but did not name the name. According to him, he “has an order from his command.”
