This fall, the Ministry of Energy will accept the National Plan for Energy and Climate, which will be transferred to Brussels – Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyk said at a press conference on a press conference. He reminded that the first concrete for the nuclear power plant is to be poured in 2028.

On Wednesday, a meeting of the Cabinet Council was held – the government meeting under the chairmanship of the president – devoted to such issues as, among others: public finance, development investments, including the construction of the Central Communication Port and nuclear power plants, as well as the protection of Polish agriculture. The meeting was attended by: President Karol Nawrocki, Prime Minister Donald Tusk and ministers of his government, as well as representatives of the presidential office.

After the meeting, Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyk emphasized that the government would “do everything” to guarantee low energy prices for the last quarter of this year and in the future through a number of investments.

At the same time, the minister emphasized that this autumn his ministry would adopt a national plan in the field of energy and climate. – In cooperation with the Ministry of the Climate and Environment, the Ministry of Energy will transfer such a plan to Brussels – the minister pointed out. He emphasized that this fall also will be updated by the Polish nuclear energy program, where issues regarding small, modular reactors will be found.

– We will start updating the state's energy policy, strategic document, road map for the entire Polish energy sector – he emphasized.

Motyka also reminded that in 2027 it is planned to submit a permit for the construction of the first nuclear power plant, and in 2028 the first concrete for the reactor is to be poured. – This is an investment that is absolutely fundamental to us – emphasized the Minister of Energy.

The National Plan for Energy and Climate is a document developed on the basis of Regulation (EU) of the European Parliament (EU) of 2018 indicates how the member country will develop, pursuing the EU climate goals. The Polish KPEiK contains two scenarios: base and increased ambitions. The European Commission has already called the Polish government twice to send an updated document, last on March 12 this year.
