In the mountain direction of the Krasnoyarsk highway, the Biscamous – Mezhdurechensk, connecting Khakassia and the Kemerovo region, ends the preparation of 18 avalanche sites for winter.
Such sites are on the stamps flying along the foothills of the Kuznetsk Alatau and East Sayan: Balyx – Biscamous, Belsu – Teba, Teba – Luzhba, Luzhba – Charysh, etc.
“Due to climatic features, an avalanche season in this area lasts almost six months – from December to April. The mountains delay the flows of warm air from Kazakhstan, the air masses rise up, then, cooling, give abundant snowfalls. At the same time, the slopes here have a slope of 45 to 80 degrees, which provokes slipping. Therefore, over the warm months, we have been performing a set of preventive measures necessary to combat the elements, ”said Alexei Lykov, head of the Krasnov anti -vine station.
In order to ensure the safety of trains, railway workers renovated 300 meters of snow -retaining barriers and traps and 35 kolktafels (protective shields) installed along the canvas on the coolest slopes over the summer.
The most large -scale events are organized on the most complex stage of Luzhba – Charysh, where the railway path looped by sharp bends, clamped between the ridges of the Kuznetsk Alatau and the Tom River.
On routes equipped for climbing the mountains, they updated stationary insurance systems necessary for work at altitude. In addition, the descent of rocks and cleaning the trench that protects the path was organized from them.
Specialists of the Krasnoyarsk Magistral Plant also trained new safe routes for the winter lifting to the zone of vane of the avalanches and the site for strategic research.
