“Brilliant.” This is how the minister assessed Karol Nawrocki's SAFE

On Tuesday, Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański was one of those invited to the Presidential Palace for talks with Karol Nawrocki and Adam Glapiński regarding the “Polski SAFE 0 percent” project. In addition to Domański, Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz talked to the president and the head of the National Bank of Poland.
After the meeting with the president, Domański spoke about the solutions proposed by Nawrocki. “There is no money in SAFE 0. Zero zlotys. There are also no guarantees of profit from the National Bank of Poland” – Domański began in a post on the X platform.

“There is an idea of indebting BGK and establishing special Councils and Committees. Brilliant. Real SAFE worth EUR 44 billion is still waiting for the President's signature“- added Domański.
“Polish SAFE 0 percent” a response to the EU's SAFE program
On March 3, Nawrocki and Glapiński presented the concept of the “Polski SAFE 0 percent” program. They presented it as a favorable and effective financial option supported by the National Bank of Poland, constituting an alternative to the EU SAFE program. The president said then that the solution was to provide funds for the Polish armed forces without additional loan obligations.

SAFE program provides for low-interest loans that will enable member states to quickly invest in their own defense, primarily through purchases of military equipment from European manufacturers. Poland is to be the largest beneficiary of the program – it is to receive approximately EUR 43.7 billion from the pool of EUR 150 billion (this is the amount of funds to be included in the program).
