Who is Jean Vișan, the new general manager of Romsilva. Only worked in the director and invested in real estate

The Ministry of the Environment announced, on Tuesday, the appointment of Jean Vișan as interim general manager of the Romsilva National Registry for the next five months. Vișan has spent his entire professional life in the director and is originally from Buzau, a city where he owns three homes.
Jean Vişan (48 years old) graduated in 2001 the courses of the Faculty of Forestry and Forest Exploit of the “Transilvania” University of Brasov where he also obtained the title of doctor in forestry in 2017.
He started his career in 2001 as a forest inspector, and after a year he began to activate as an engineer within the Vintilă Vodă Forestry Department and at the Buzau Forestry Directorate.
Since 2006 he has held central positions within Romsilva, within the Investment Service, which he then came to lead in the period 2019-2020. Subsequently, he held the position of director of the Forestry Directorate of Buzau for six months.
Between December 2020 – February 2025 he ran the investment service of own funds, accessibility, budget and
External funds, forest regeneration and forest curtains, so that from February it will be the head of the Regeneration – Development Directorate of Romsilva.

The functions held and the professional qualifications obtained led to its specialization in the field of investments and regeneration of forests by Romsilva.
From the declaration of wealth filed in June 2025 it turns out that Jean Vișan invested the revenues obtained in real estate in the city of Buzau. Thus, he owns two houses of 136, respectively 52 square meters, to which is added an apartment of 79 m2. In addition to these properties, Vișan is also the owner of two commercial spaces in Buzău, which totals around 170 square meters. Also in the chapter “immovable goods”, there are two agricultural lands in the county, with an area of 1,800 square meters.
At the section “Financial Assets”, Jean Vișan passed two bank accounts in which he owns almost 285,000 lei, to which are added smaller amounts as funds for private pensions or insurance. Together with his wife, Vișan invested 150,000 lei in government securities.
In 2024, Jean Vișan had revenues from the salaries from Romsilva of about 208,000 lei, to which are added the wife's revenues from ANAF, of 84,000 lei.
