The Japanese imperial house reported to the headquarters of the Imperial Guard an alleged theft from the personal expense of the emperor and his family by an employee of the agency, writes the Japanese press.
The 20 -year -old employee was fired “in disgrace”, the authorities announced. According to them, she would have stolen a total of 3.6 million Yen (about 22,000 euros) from a office of the agency of the Imperial House on the land of the Imperial Palace in the Chiyoda neighborhood, Tokyo, between November 2023-March 2025, when he was administrator of the Imperial Palace.
The employee said: “I needed money and I used them [pe cei furați] for my living expenses ”. It seems that the suspect would have stolen the money while in the night service.
Due to the inadequate cash management, another 40 -year -old administrator was sanctioned with a 10% wage reduction for one month.
This is the first time that a theft of the personal expenses of the imperial family was revealed.
“It is an extremely inappropriate behavior for an employee of the Imperial House Agency and is regrettable. We will work to prevent the repetition of such an incident,” said Yasuhiko Nishimura, the general administrator, in a statement.
