The Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, said on Wednesday that the ministry he runs, through the subordinate institutions, “monitors in real time the impact on the air quality in Bucharest and the neighboring localities” in the context of the fire that broke out on Tuesday evening in the Red Dragon Complex.

Diana Buzoianu said that three self -cooperators of the National Agency for Environment and Protected Areas (ANMAP) “monitors the main pollution indicators: suspension particles (PM10 and PM2.5), nitrogen oxides, benzene, hydrogen sulphide and ammonia”.

According to the minister, the self-cooperator of the County Environment Directorate (DJM) Bucharest is installed in the area of ​​the physicists-Vitan-Bârzești, the DJM Prahova autoler is located in Tunari commune, and the DJM Giurgiu auto is in the CET Progresul area.

“High” concentrations of PM10 in several neighborhoods

In the message transmitted on Facebook on Wednesday afternoon, the Minister of the Environment said that the levels of PM10 concentrations “are decreasing”, but there are neighborhoods in which they “stay high”.

“The national air quality monitoring network has registered significant increases in PM10 concentrations in the eastern and southern areas of Bucharest. The values ​​temporarily reached 200 µg/m³ around 6:00 in the morning, under conditions of atmospheric calm. Currently, the concentrations are decreasing, but in Berceni, Berceni Văcărești ”, said Diana Buzoianu.

She said the Environmental Guard will carry out a control “to determine the causes and possible legal responsibilities”.

“We are in permanent contact with ISU and all the intervention authorities. We continuously monitor the air quality with the help of fixed stations and mobile self -laborers, so that the population is informed correctly and in real time.
