Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski says that Russia is doing everything to disturb peace efforts, shortly after US President Donald Trump has announced his intention to reduce ultimatum for Russia, to force a peace agreement in Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
In his nocturnal speech, Zelenski states that peace can be touched if firm and decision is acting.
“Today (Monday, no) President Trump has made an extremely firm statement. And it is true that Russia is the one who does everything to disturb peace efforts and extend this war. Every night there are constantly – Russia is trying to hurt Ukraine,” Zelenski said.
Zelenski emphasized the importance of sanctions, which, in his opinion, are a key element for peace.
“Russia considers sanctions, takes into account such losses. Peace by force is possible. Ukraine, as always, is ready to collaborate with America as productive as possible, to collaborate with President Trump to end this war with dignity and sustainable peace,” Zelenski stressed.
At the same time, Zelenski thanked all the members of the foreign policy team of Ukraine who works for significant relations with America.
US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he is setting up a new deadline for 10 or 12 days for Russia to end the war, in a new statement that shows his frustration towards Russian leader Vladimir Putin because the latter extends the fights between the two parties.
Previously, early this month, Trump had set a deadline for 50 days.
