Daniel David, the Minister of Education, admits that he does not know how the opening festivities of the 2025-2026 school year will work, in the context of the fiscal-budgetary measures that also affect the education system and which have generated the dissatisfaction of the educational unions. He argues that, after the crisis period, education must reach the percentage of GDP that allow the development of the system.

“What will happen? The truth is that I don't know, it is very difficult for me to make predictions. It will probably be a boycott, I do not know why major. Probably there will be segments with different attitude on the first day of school. I do not know what is the magnitude of this process.

The minister claimed that, regardless of how this school year will start, after the crisis period, education must reach the percentage of GDP that allow the development of the system.

“Whether this hybrid image will be, from their protest, an important protest, it must be understood that education, after passing this period of fiscal-budgetary crisis, and education entered the first package not that someone wanted, but because we start in September and then these measures had to be taken, the education will need to support and to the development.

Daniel David recalled that the decisions made and affecting the education “are crisis measures, there are no reform measures”.

“These crisis measures were important because they help us to end the year with salaries and scholarships. Education had to enter package 1, because we start the activities of September. The fact that education has entered package 1, I repeat, helps me to end the year with salaries and scholarships. And we also contributed to the stability of the country. PNRR.

Regarding the future, the minister Daniel David claimed that, in the medium term, he wants to ensure that in the law of unitary wage, “the politics honors its promise for education, for the starting point for the salary for the beginner professor and the university assistant”, and in the medium and long term, the education must aim for 15% of the EDUI, for 1% of the Education “Use a little more efficient.”

The president of the Federation Spiru Haret, Marius Nistor, said on Monday that there is no question of a general strike in education, but only a boycott on September 8 of the beginning of the school year.
