US President Donald Trump chose to comment on the physical appearance of Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni on Monday, the only woman on the Gaza Summit stage, saying about “she is young and beautiful,” reports France24, who cites AFP.
The 79 -year -old man, in his third marriage, Trump acknowledged that he risks being accused of sexism by comments made to the far -right leader Giorgia Meloni, who was behind him on the podium.
“I am not allowed to say this, because you usually end your political career if you do it – but she is a beautiful and beautiful young woman,” said Trump, in the middle of a speech about her peaceful efforts for the Middle East.
“If you use the word” beautiful “in the United States when you talk about a woman, you have completed your political career-but I take the risk,” Trump continued.
Returning to Meloni, 48 years old, he asked, “Don't bother you to tell you that you are beautiful, right? Because you are.”
Meloni's immediate reaction could not be observed, because Trump was between her and the cameras.
Trump continued, calling Meloni-his ideological ally on immigration and culture topics-“incredible”.
“And she is highly respected in Italy. She's a very successful politician,” he added.

Meloni was the only woman of the approximately 30 leaders gathered on the stage behind Trump at Summit, where a statement was signed by which he is committed to supporting peace efforts in Gaza.
Trump has been criticized in the past for sexist remarks.
In September, a US Appeal court maintained the decision of a jury by which Trump was forced to pay $ 83.3 million to writer E. Jean Carroll, who was found to be guilty of sexually assaulted and then defamed her.
Also in the margin of the Peace Summit held in Egypt, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised the head of the Government in Rome that he will find a way to convince him to quit smoking.
“You look great. But I have to make you quit smoking,” Erdogan told Meloni, according to the images published by the Italian daily Il Foglio and other publications.
