Pensions of prosecutors and judges will be limited to 75% of the last net salary

The variant adopted in the meeting of the Coalition on Tuesday evening provides that the pensions of the magistrates be limited to 75% of the last net salary collected. The initial proposal provided that this threshold would be 70% of the last income.

The coalition also agreed that the transition period until the retirement age of the magistrates will reach 65 years to increase from 10 years (initial version), to 15 years, according to the same sources.

The Minister of Development, Cseke Attila, said on Tuesday evening that the Government's proposal on changing the magistrate retirement age is a “correct” one. Cseke believes that, although criticized, it will be supported by the coalition, claiming that the magistrates must prove solidarity in a period when all socio-professional categories are affected by the measures taken.

“We all have to take care of when we have a salary system or special pensions that is a generous system (…) that measure related to payroll and pensions for magistrates in a certain context was of certain importance. It is important that these revenues will ensure a decent living, but solidarity is needed.”Cseke Attila told Tuesday evening at Antena 3, according to News.ro

“I believe that this proposal, even if it is criticized, will be supported by the coalition. (…) Solidarity is needed on all fields of activity. And the package on the administration side follows this very important principle that some should not participate in this effort at a difficult time. In the end, we are all interested in this country, and this is a support. deficit ”, added the Minister of Development.
