The Court of Accounts notified the criminal prosecution bodies after discovering, following an audit of compliance, serious irregularities at the Tourism Office for Youth (BTT) SA, a company to which the Romanian state is a majority shareholder through the Ministry of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity (87.92% of actions).
“For the non -conformities in which there are indications that the facts were committed in violation of the criminal law, the plenary of the Court of Accounts decided to notify the criminal prosecution bodies.“, It is shown in the statement of the institution, quoted by News.ro.
Active alienated illegally and lack of transparency
According to the audit report, BTT SA did not take the legal steps for the reunification of the patrimony with the assets sold on the basis of association contracts canceled later by the criminal court.
The Court of Accounts also discovered that the company has accepted “Unjustified” the exploitation of some assets by third parties, without the existence of legal contracts. Also, BTT does not have a clear and real record of the goods involved in the association contracts.
Problems and in inventory and rental contracts
During the period 2021-2023, the auditors also found deficiencies in the general heritage inventory, but also at the conclusion and development of the rental contracts.
The court recommends “Establishing legal measures for reintegration into the company's patrimony of all illegally alienated assets, establishing the stretch of damage and recovering“
Another critical point identified is the non -attachment of the indexed rents, which the institution requires to be fully recovered.
The Tourism Office for Youth SA is the successor of the former BTT, established in 1968 to organize tourism, youth rest camps and mass tourist activities. Over time, the company has held an important heritage, consisting of tourist and leisure bases throughout the country.
