A card signed by Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant sold $ 12,932 million on Saturday, a record for a sports collection card, Reuters reports, according to News.ro.
This record card is known as “2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Autographs Jordan & Bryant” and has exceeded the record of the “1952 Topps Mickey Mantle”, which was sold for $ 12.6 million in August 2022.
The Jordan/Bryant card is the second value in the top of the collection sports objects, after the Babe Ruth's shirt in the 1932 World Series, known as “Called Shot”. This small piece of history sold in 2024 for $ 24.12 million.
The Jordan/Bryant card was sold through Heritage Auctions. The buyer's identity has not been revealed.
The former owner of the card kept it for more than a decade, refusing private “seven -digit” offers during this period.
“The estimation before the auction was over $ 6 million,” said Chris Ivy, director of the Heritage Sport Auction Department.
