Four young people, two boys and two girls, between the ages of 20 and 23, lost their lives on Saturday, after the car driven by a young man from Brasov with whom they were heading to the Iezer peak, on a forest road, overturned in a rap, according to the police, reports the local press. The only boy who escaped alive is in serious condition.
The five young people were in a Suzuki Vitara, when they collapsed in a deep gap of about 250 meters. They had left in the early hours of the morning in Lereşti, Argeș county, to see the sunrise on the ridges, according to Antena 3 and Obserator News.
In the area of the Corprei – Portăreasa, the driver came out of the injured route, could not control the steering wheel and overturned.
The only survivor, a 21 -year -old, was urgently transported with the SMURD helicopter to Brasov County Hospital.
The boy was observed by two mushroom collectors only a few hours after the accident. After hearing the young man's cries, they descended to the town to ask for help because the area was injured.
The rescuers who arrived in the Portăreasa mountain area struggled with several field cars to recover young people.
“They fell 230 meters. It was difficult. I called in support of colleagues at home. We had to recover four corpses from the precipice. They were young, 24, 25 years old. The driver tried to see the power of the car, lost control and went to the rap. Argeș, quoted by Antena 3.
The young man was aware when the rescuers came to him, but in hypothermic shock, a person who participated in the mission, who was difficult.
“The person who survived had a left forearm fracture. He was on the back chair, behind the driver, and jumped out of the car. I told him, you were born a second time,” said Victoria Lâsâi, ambulance, quoted by Observer News.
Doctors say that the young man is in serious condition, admitted to the Intensive Care section and is aware.
“The established diagnosis was of polytrauma by car accident produced in the mountain area, with cranial trauma, spine fractures, humerus, which required the previous evening surgery, thoracic-abdominal trauma. At this time, the patient is in intensive care. His condition is in serious continuation. Multidisciplinary, it requires further care, ”said Corina Ciubotaru, primary emergency medicine at the hospital in Brasov, according to Digi 24.
The police have opened an investigation and have to determine how the accident was spent. A hypothesis taken into account is related to adverse weather conditions.
