CFR Cluj has formalized the separation by Dan Petrescu today. The 57-year-old coach had announced his resignation on Thursday evening, after 2-7 with Hacken, in the round-off of Conference League. Instead, the Italian Andrea Mandorilini will come on the bench.
This morning, CFR Cluj published an announcement in which he formalized the separation by Dan Petrescu. The “Bursuc” had been appointed on the bank of Cluj on April 30, 2024. He announced that he was leaving the team immediately after 2-7 with the Swedes from Hacken.
In this term, Dan Petrescu checked 68 parties (33 victories, 22 draws and 13 defeats), and at the end of last season he won the Romanian Cup.

Following Thursday night's result, technician Dan Petrescu has submitted his resignation from the position of head coach of our team, this being accepted by the management of the CFR 1907 Cluj club 📃
Returning to Gruia in the spring of 2024, the technician stayed on the bench of our team for 68 games, during which time he ticked 33 wins, 22 draws and 13 defeats, managing to bring the Romanian Cup back after 9 years – the sixth trophy won with CFR

This was the fourth term of Dan Petrescu at CFR Cluj. He also trained Cluj during the periods June 2017- June 2018, March 2019- November 2020, August 2021- June 2023 and April 2024- August 2025.
