Marius Voineag, DNA chief prosecutor, told Aleph News that, of the 36 open files against ministers throughout the history of the National Anticorruption Directorate, 14 ended with definitive convictions, representing about 38%, writes Mediafax.
The chief prosecutor stressed that the DNA was very careful in managing the top-level cases, wishing that the accusations would be well proven before being presented to the public. Although many files were intensely publicized, there were failures, and the anti-corruption prosecutors made sure that all the accusations were based on solid evidence.
“There is a certain volatility and in terms of ministers, we often open, but we reach former, there is a constant fluctuation on the government side. We must be realists and understand that out of 36 ministers of the whole history of the DNA, Only 14 were convicted, definitive convictions, there are 5 more, the rest were many situations that did not help us in terms of accusations. We had defeats, which is why we wanted to be very precise ”Voineag said at Aleph News.
