Scandal surrounding President Zelensky. The court issued an arrest warrant for two people

“On April 21, 2026, at the request of NABU investigators, approved by the prosecutor of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), the investigating judge of the Higher Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure in the form of arrest for the former deputy head of the Chancellery of the President of Ukraine and the owner of a network of Ukrainian and foreign enterprises [bliskiego krewnego byłego zastępcy szefa kancelarii prezydenta Ukrainy]” — said the press service of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
As noted by the Interfax-Ukraine agency, these people are suspected of misappropriating funds intended for payments under the so-called green tariff, acting as part of an organized group for a number of commercial energy companies located in the Russian-occupied territory of the Zaporizhia Oblast in southeastern Ukraine.
The scandal surrounding Zelensky. Szurma denies the allegations
Rostysław Szurma called the court's decision “illegal, politically motivated and made contrary to basic legal procedures.” “Let me be honest: this decision does not prove my guilt. It does not mean that the case has become stronger on the merits. In fact, the prosecution needed just such a procedural step to move to the next stage – international prosecution, requests for my arrest and further extradition attempt,” he wrote on Facebook.
“I do not consider myself guilty,” Szurma emphasized and assured that he would continue to “defend his name, reputation and legal position by all lawful means.” According to him, he is not hiding. “I live legally in Germany at an address that has long been precisely known to Ukrainian law enforcement agencies,” Szurma explained.
In February, NABU announced that it was looking for Szurma, who is suspected of misappropriating property and legalizing the proceeds of crime. His brother is also wanted.
On January 21, NABU and SAP revealed a scheme of embezzlement of funds from the so-called green energy tariff in the Russian-occupied territory of the Zaporozhye Oblast, with losses of UAH 141.3 million (over PLN 11.6 million).
Rostysław Szurma, 42, born in Lviv, was the deputy head of the Chancellery of the President of Ukraine from November 2021 to September 2024. Szurma could legally go to Germany because, as a father of three children, he is not subject to mobilization.
