The Day of the Romanian Navy is celebrated annually on August 15, with the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin, the protector of the sailors. On this occasion, the Romanian Naval Forces organize a series of events in six cities in the country, the most important in Constanța, to promote the values and traditions of the military sailors.
The largest event dedicated to the Day of the Romanian Navy is organized in Constanța, starting at 10.00.
The events take place on the cliff in front of the fleet command in Constanta and in the maritime district crossed by it, where the training sequences of the naval exercise will be carried out “Romanian Naval Forces 2025 – FNR 25”, according to a statement sent by the Romanian Naval Forces.
Bolojan goes to Constanța, Nicușor Dan is missing
Over 3,500 Romanian and foreign soldiers, 28 ships, 25 fast boats and about 20 aircraft participate in the events dedicated to the Romanian Navy Day in Constanta.
The maritime show will be completed by three aircraft of the Romanian aircraft, as well as dozens of Civil Velier crafts, which will march at sea.
At these events, the presence and Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced, but President Nicușor Dan will be absent, according to Antena3 CNN. Moreover, on the President's agenda, published on the Presidential Administration, there is no visit by Nicușor Dan to Constanța.
The Program of Navy Day celebrations in Constanța
According to the Romanian Naval Forces, the activities organized on this occasion, in the year in which 165 years have been celebrated since the establishment of the modern Romanian military, will start at 10.00, with the lifting of the pavilion, the jac and the great Pavoaz.
At the same time, the military music of the naval forces will intonate the national anthem of Romania and will be drawn 21 cannon sacks of the 30th Guard Brigade “Mihai Viteazul”. After the speeches of the official persons, a religious ceremony will take place, and two maritime trailers and port will launch flower anchors in the waves of the sea, in memory of the marine heroes.
Around 10.40, the Neptune god will arrive, aboard the command ship “Luceafărul”, after which he will debut the FNR 25 exercise, which will end, around 12.00, with the parade of ships, boats and aircraft.
The day of the Romanian Navy will be completed in the evening, starting at 8 pm, when the military sailors will retire with torches on the Gate 1 route – the fleet command – Ovidiu Square, in the agreements of the military music of the naval forces, as well as with a show of fireworks provided by the City Hall of Constanța, which can be followed from the Square area.

In Mangalia, the Marine Day will be marked, between 10:00 and 12:30, through a military ceremony and by carrying out the Naval exercise met 25.10, in the area of the tourist port. Starting at 9:00 pm, the military sailors from Mangalia will retire with torches, in the agreements of the military music of the 2nd Infantry Division “Getica”, according to Agerpres.
In Braila, the public is invited to the Danube cliff, in the area of Morii Violatos, where he will be able to attend, between 10:00 and 12:30, at the military ceremony and the river sequences of the FNR 25.10 naval exercise. Starting at 8:30 pm, the military music of the Braila garrison will accompany the military participating in the withdrawal with torches, on Călăraşilor.
In Tulcea, on Friday, between 10:00 and 12:30, the public is invited to the Danube cliff, where the river sequences of the Naval Exercise met 25.10 by the military on board the ships will be presented and the traditional marine games will be held.
In Galaţi, the Day of the Romanian Navy will be celebrated on Friday, from 5:00 pm, in the Eleice area, on the Danube cliff, by a military and religious ceremony, followed by the river sequences of the FNR 25.10 naval exercise and the parade of military ships.
In Bucharest, between 09:00 and 10:00, the Day of the Romanian Navy will be marked by a military and religious ceremony, which will take place at the Monument of the Marine Heroes in Herastrau Park, Debarcade area.
