In January, many people notice that the morning begins with a feeling as if the stomach is “filled” with air. It is heavy, slightly swollen, and deeply uncomfortable to breathe. Drinking water on an empty stomach helps little, not everyone likes tea with ginger, and there is simply no time for exercise or massage. At the same time, there is a work day ahead, trips or meetings where you want to feel light and collected.
There is a simple movement that gently starts the bowels and engages the transversus muscle. It doesn't require diets, pills, or even getting out of bed. You can perform it immediately after waking up, lying under the covers. It stimulates peristalsis, improves fluid outflow and gently “revives” internal organs.
How to do:
- Lie on your back, leave the pillow.
- Bend your knees, feet on the bed.
- With a long exhalation through your mouth, slowly draw your stomach towards your spine, as if you were hiding your navel inside.
- Stay in this position for 10–15 seconds, breathing shallowly through your chest.
- As you inhale, gently relax your stomach.
- Repeat 4-5 times.
Do this every morning before coffee and shower. After just 2-3 days, you will notice that your stomach is less bloated by lunchtime, your breathing is deeper, and your movements are freer.
