According to “The Independent”, on Thursday morning a person from the staff of the Guy's Hospital hospital in London accidentally mixed chlorine with sulfuric acid. As a result of the incorrectly conducted reaction, there was an explosion and the formation of gas chlorine dangerous to man. This dangerous gas can cause serious lung damage, such as toxic pneumonia or pneumonia. The perpetrator of the incident was wounded, and several people who came to his aid held poisonous fumes. Services were called in. Firefighters checked and ventilated the entire building. Patients and staff were necessary – about 150 people in total.

Four people in the hospital after chlorine poisoning in London
Rescuers gave help to nine people, four of whom were hospitalized. In the hospital, after the evacuation was announced, there was chaos, there was no information.
– They didn't explain what was going on. Because I knew someone who worked in the hospital, I found out – said “The Independent” a man visiting a close person in the hospital.
“I saw that someone was covered with wet towels and blankets,” another witness said.
Photos and recordings showing the evacuation and actions of firefighters appeared on the web.
The hospital quickly returned to the normal operating mode. – Firefighters searched the area to see if there are increased gas chlorine readings – the media spokesman for the fire brigade said. The hospital emphasized in a statement, cited by the BBC London that the chemical incident occurred in the “area not intended for patients”.
Guy's is a large London clinical hospital that can accept 400 patients. He specializes, among others in the treatment of cancer, urology and dental care.
