At the beginning of September, the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) in Chisinau, together with the National Police, carried out several searches in Chisinau and in Gagauzia, in a file in which there are suspicions of corruption of the voters, illegal financing of the political parties, of the initiative groups and of the initiative. According to a video published by the CNA, the people of the law also descended at the headquarters of the “Heart of Moldova” Party, led by Irina Vlah, the former Gagauziei, the autonomous region under the influence of Russia.

Then, the former Bascane accused the Chisinau government of political pressures around the parliamentary elections. Subsequently, Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced that all Irine Vlah accounts were blocked as a result of the sanctions introduced by Canada regarding Irina Vlah, a candidate for the position of deputy from the Patriotic Electoral Bloc of the Socialists, the Communists, the “heart of Moldova” and “Viitorul Moldovei”.

The authorities announced that 74 people were detained, some of them having connections with political forces and crime structures. These are young people between 19 and 40, who were taken to training in Serbia, coordinated by people from special Russian services, the so-called GRU, and learn how to cause violence, say the Chisinau authorities.
Prior to the official announcement made by the authorities with the balance of searches and the plans for “mass disorder actions”, socialist leader Igor Dodon, former president of the country, said that searches were also conducted for organizations of his party and were detained “several colleagues”.
Victoria Furtuna, investigated and she
Another scandal related to the parliamentary elections aimed at Victoria Furtuna, the head of the “Moldova Mare” party, the formation associated with the fugitive iligar Şor, hidden in Moscow.

The storm, which is applying for the position of deputy, is targeted in a criminal investigation into false domicile in which the police in Iași carried out dozens of searches.
Former prosecutors and a candidate for last year's presidential elections, the storm is accused of appealing to the Cordunenii interloping clan to get a home in Romania, reports Digi24, which cites sources from the investigation. According to the TV station, the address declared by the storm in Iași was made, at the disposal, at the disposal of over 10,000 Moldovan citizens, who fictitiously declared their domicile to obtain Romanian identity documents.
A week ago, Euronews cited sources within the Romanian authorities who said that the authority for citizenship analyzes the withdrawal of the Romanian citizenship Victoriei Furtuna.
At that time, the Government spokesman, Ioana Ene Dogioiu, told Hotnews that she has no information on this topic. Two months ago, the storm was included by the European Union on the list of Moldovan politicians for destabilization actions of the Republic of Moldova, along with other leaders and members of the parties associated with the iligar Şor, according to Free Europe.
Disclosures about Russia's plan
The election campaign was also marked by a series of disclosures made several publications. Bloomberg has published documents from the Kremlin showing that Russia has designed a plan to intervene in the elections in the Republic of Moldova and to undermine the government's efforts to keep the country on the way to the European Union.
The strategy targeting several directions was completed in the spring and directly coordinated by the Kremlin. The purpose is to undermine the chances of the Party Action and Solidarity of President Maia Sandu at the election on September 28 and, finally, to remove it from power, according to Bloomberg.
Tiktok campaign: Over 100,000 fake accounts deleted
One of the behaviors in Russia's actions in these elections in the Republic of Moldova is the so-called informational war. According to Prime Minister Dorin Recean, over the last two months before the parliamentary election, over 100,000 fake accounts and over 250,000 spam accounts have been eliminated. All were part of the information attack on Moldova.
This was demonstrated in an investigation of the Garda newspaper, Chisinau, in which at the beginning of September it was revealed that hundreds of accounts with false identities, behind which are real activists of the “Victory” block, controlled by Ilan Șor from Moscow, were created to spread Russian propaganda and Facebook.
All posts are strictly monitored, and communication is coordinated by secret groups and channels. Among the most diligent activists of the Șor network, a detachment of mercenari paid directly from Moscow was selected.
People paid to post messages against the pro-EU party
Another investigation of the BBC has revealed other details about the network: people were paid to post pro-Russian propaganda and false news with the purpose of undermining the pro-EU party in the Republic of Moldova, PAS-of Maia Sandu, before the parliamentary elections on September 28. The money came from Moscow, shows an investigation of
According to an investigation, conducted with the help of an undercover reporter from Chisinau, the people who were part of the network were paid to find supporters of the pro-Russia opposition. They were registered and used for a so-called survey, which turned out to be a fake. Everything was done illegally, in the name of an non -existent organization. Moreover, the BBC discovered links between the secret network and the Moldovan oligarch Ilan Șor.
Another action of the Kremlin
The Nordnews portal also published two investigations during the election campaign. One of these investigations discovers a complex orchestrated operation from the Kremlin that takes place in full election campaign.
Specifically, the Diocese of Soroca and Drochia of the Metropolitan Church of Moldova, subordinated to the Russian Patriarchate, has transformed into this election campaign, which the political consultants from Moscow would use to destabilize the Republic of Moldova before the parliamentary election on September 28.
According to the sources of the publication, the network is built by mobilizing sympathetic clergy, but also by involving young people and church faces in collecting personal data.
Under the pretext of “religious trips”, actions with electoral tint were carried out, complemented by misinformation campaigns on social networks.
Another investigation of Nordnews reveals the involvement in diverting the vote in the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova of the so-called organizations “Evrazia”, founded by the oligarch Ilan Șor, hidden in Moscow.
Specifically, the journalists infiltrated themselves and documented for five months, under Cover, how people from Moscow train young people online about how to make fake polls, how money is paid for the influence of elections, but also how the “Moldova Mare” Party of the former anti-corruption prosecutor Victoria Furtuna is illegally funded.
What do the Chisinau authorities say?
The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, launched on September 9 a warning that Moscow has a goal “to put on Moldova and use it against Ukraine and EU”, in a speech held in the plenary of the European Union legislature.
And in an interview for the Financial Times, Sandu said that “the Russians are targeting the diaspora”, accusing Moscow of resorting to Orthodox priests for propaganda and the “Matryoshka” boot network to manufacture false news.
The leader from Chisinau also stated that the Russian Federation intensified its mixture in the electoral processes, regarding especially the Moldovan voters abroad, on the threshold of the parliamentary elections of September 28, 2025.
And the prime minister of the Republic of Moldova, Dorin Recean, during a press conference on September 24, said that the Chisinau authorities are preparing for any scenario.
“We are preparing for any scenario, but for the situations there will be certain incidents, please follow our ads on the first source and on our official pages. They can try to extinguish the light, organize false bomb alerts, attack the information system related to elections, to put under pressure. Insured Dorin Recean.
In context, previously, the leaders of the European Union expressed their firm support for Moldovan candidacy for accession in the Community block, and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, the German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, and Poland Prime Minister Donald Tusk visited Chisinau at the end of August. According to European officials, Russia has allocated significant resources to influence the elections in the region.
