Titus Corlățean, message for the PSD leadership: “There is a political responsibility for failures” / He says that the Grindeanu team “played with the status”

The first PSD member entered the party's internal race for the party's presidency, Titus Corlățean, criticized the current management of the Social Democrats on Tuesday, and said that Marcel Ciolacu should never have run for presidential elections.
Titus Corlățean said that if he will become president of the PSD after the Congress of the party, which is expected to take place in the fall, the operation of the ruling coalition will have to be “rethought”. He did not argue concretely that he would want the party to get out of government, but said that “if things don't work, what is the logic of going?”.
Titus Corlățean also criticized the decision of the PSD leaders – including Mihai Tudose, Sorin Grindeanu and Paul Stănescu – to remain at the head of the party after Marcel Ciolacu and the Presidential Party and after the resignation of Ciolacu from the PSD leadership.
“There is a political responsibility for failures, for electorate losses. 1,3-1.5 million voters who went to other areas. It is a heavy, traumatic loss. This political responsibility should have been assumed, to discuss, to debate in the party and to do the analysis, to have a collegial and male discussion,” said Corlă.
Asked by the reporter Hotnews if all the PSD leadership should take a step back after these failures he talks about, Corlățean replied: “I tell you one thing: the choice was made on a system that also has advantages and deep disadvantages, that motion system.”
“In fact, it is like the government, when the prime minister resigns the whole team that was invested in the package, not on individual competitions, is resigning. It has been played with the status,” said Titus Corlățean.
Titus Corlățean: Marcel Ciolacu did not have to run for presidential elections
Speaking of the decisions taken by the PSD in recent months, Titus Corlățean said that Marcel Ciolacu should have remained a prime minister and not apply for the presidential elections. He was asked if due to the measures taken by the Bolojan government he lost Sorin Grindeanu from the support of the PSD members.
“I do not like to do analyzes with names and first names towards colleagues. Here is a political process that some colleagues have not understood or not and wanted to (…) What is the responsibility of those who led this party? ”, Asked Corlățean.
What Titus Corlățean says about Victor Ponta's return to the party
Asked, on Tuesday, if Victor Ponta will take place in his team if he became president of the PSD, Corlățean claimed that “the mechanism of manipulation from the disturbed ones has released this matter”. Corlățean was, for two years, between 2012 and 2014, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in the government led by Victor Ponta.
He stressed that the project he has for the PSD is one “I leave the party, with the strictly of the party”.
“We know each other, that we were colleagues, there is another matter. That Ponta with Grindeanu does not love each other, we know this again. But the discussion and the project is exclusively of the PSD members and so,” said Titus Corlățean.
“In general, who left the party too much political success,” Corlățean said about Ponta, and then talked about the efforts that PSD has to make to “recover” the electorate who voted Victor Ponta at the presidential May – over 1,230,000 people.
“The relaunch of a party is done through a deep renewal”
On Sunday, Titus Corlățean announced that he will run for the position of PSD president at the Congress to be organized this fall. He invoked the fact that the party “needs credibility, needs to be relaunched, it must be led by well trained people, with the diploma on the table.”
“There should not be a surprise for the PSD presidency, because we are after a trial in years and which has accelerated from last year, which consecrates the existence of a PSD in a very serious crisis. The rule in politics is very simple: when you lose your credibility and you have generated a trauma to the party, there were mistakes, it is a matter of fact, Tuesday, Titus Corlățean.
He added that the party has always had “resources of renewal and relaunch”, and “ordinary people in the party generated the change”.
