Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will continue to develop movie and serial projects with Netflix, but under more limited conditions, the streaming company announced on Monday.
The platform, with which the couple has signed a contract exclusively in 2020, will have the possibility to accept or refuse a project, before it is proposed to other studios.
This agreement, whose financial conditions have not been disclosed, is considered as less money, but allows more flexibility for producers.
In a statement, Bela Bajaria, a general content director at Netflix described the couple as “influential voices whose stories echo with the public everywhere”.
Meghan Markle was declared “proud” of the extension of the partnership with Netflix.
The prince and his wife signed a first contract with Netflix in 2020 for an estimated amount of $ 100,000,000, an amount that has never been confirmed.
Under these conditions, they produced the documentary series “Harry & Meghan” in which they reported the break with the British royal family. A successful series, which made 23,000,000 views in the first four days after launch, a record for a Netflix documentary.
The two were also producers for “With Love, Meghan”, a serial ironized by the Anglo-Saxon press, which, however, made 5,000,000 views in the first half of 2025. The series became the most viewed culinary show of the streaming platform.
The new contract provides for a second series of “With Love, Meghan”, as well as a special episode to be broadcast in December, Netflix announced.
The two were married in 2018, after which the rupture of the royal family followed and the couple move to California.
